Kurt Zouma finds himself in the media today for all the wrong reasons.

A video has emerged which shows the West Ham United defender kicking a cat, and further terrorising the scared pet. To make matters even worse, the whole thing is accompanied by laughter, and a child can be seen witnessing the events.

West Ham have already said they’ll be looking into the matter, and Zouma has released an apology. Of course, it’s questionable whether there’d even be any regret from the footballer had the video not found its way into the public domain.

In the UK, there’s been multiple complaints to the RSPCA and calls for the police to take action. The story is also spreading across the world media, and is being heavily covered in France.

The 27-year-old is a France international and last played for his country in November. Therefore, he’s clearly well known, and his actions are receiving a similar reaction in his home country to what has been the case in the UK.

L’Equipe report that the Brigitte Bardot Foundation has contacted them and said they’ve ‘filed a complaint’ against the West Ham player. The nature of that complaint, and to which authorities its been made to, hasn’t been revealed.

Brigitte Bardot is very well known figure in France and beyond, with a successful career as an actress and singer. She’s also known for her work in animal protection, and started the foundation in 1986.
