Despite the recent news that one of the candidates for the presidency of Rosario Central could try and scupper Brighton & Hove Albion’s deal for Facundo Buonanotte, the player appears to still be heading to England.

That’s according to Varsky Sports, who take to Twitter to explain that the young Argentine is indeed going to be bought by the Seagulls in a relatively expensive deal.

It’s revealed that the player ‘will be the new player’ of Brighton, who will pay ‘around €11.5m with bonuses included and 20% of a future sale’.

For Rosario Central, this is seen as ‘one of the most important transfers’ in the club’s history, and will bring much needed capital to their bank accounts.

Buonanotte, once he joins, will be the latest in a growing string of players to arrive to Brighton from South America, following in the footsteps of the likes of Alexis Mac Allister and Moises Caicedo, among others, in swapping their home countries for the south of England.

The 17-year-old has enjoyed a fine season with Rosario Central, scoring four goals and picking up two assists in 34 appearances to date, which is what caught the attention of Brighton.

EDIT: Rosario Central have announced the deal down their end.
