Ever since Bayern Munich made it clear they will not exercise the option to make Philippe Coutinho’s loan move permanent, his agent Kia Joorabchian has been working on finding a solution for the Barcelona owned player.

Today’s edition of Sport states the Brazil international’s future could be in the Premier League and Leicester City are ‘interested’ in him.

The 27-year-old played under Brendan Rodgers when the pair were at Liverpool and it was the Northern Irishman who signed the midfielder for the Anfield club.

It’s claimed the Foxes manager has ‘contacted’ Coutinho and the idea of playing again under Rodgers at Leicester has ‘attracted’ the South American.

Leicester have enjoyed a good season as they are third in the table and were set to qualify for next season’s Champions League before football was suspended due to the Covid-19 pandemic.

The Rodgers factor makes Leicester a ‘plausible option’.

Barcelona are open to the idea of allowing Coutinho to go out on loan for one more season with conditions similar to those agreed with Bayern. The Catalan club are also willing to loan him out, provided a mandatory purchase option is included.

The third option is that the Blaugrana are ready to cash in and will accept €75m for a straight transfer.

Sport states the three conditions set by Barcelona to sanction Coutinho’s transfer are being studied by Leicester.
