It’s safe to say it’s not a secret that Liverpool have rejected a new offer from Barcelona for Philippe Coutinho. This bid would’ve been an offer of around £118m, according to the English press.

And the Brazilian media seem to still be on the money regarding this chase. This week, local outlets had already reported that a bid of up to €130m would arrive this week, delivered by the player’s agent Kia Joorabchian.

It was Goal Brasil who made that report, and now they say Liverpool have indeed turned down a €125m offer today.

Interestingly, in their article they claim to have spoken to sources from the English club, and were told that Coutinho is staying there beyond the close of the transfer window.

Liverpool want to show a ‘final position’, insisting the player is not for sale.

A week ago, Brazilian website UOL published a story explaining the background of the player’s transfer request, at least from his perspective, and claimed that the word at Liverpool is they “won’t sell even for €500m”.
