Leicester City are ‘getting serious’ about Fiorentina forward Nico Gonzalez and have put a €34m offer on the table.

That’s according to Calciomercato, who say that following an initial approach with the player’s agents, Leicester have made the ‘boom’ in Italy and put their money where their mouth is.

The Serie A side have taken the proposal and are currently evaluating it, aware that if a deal were to happen they would make a profit but also need to be active in the January transfer market to find a replacement.

They are ‘seriously considering’ accepting Leicester’s offer for Gonzalez as they are aware that the forward is ‘pushing to go to England’.

His entourage and Leicester are in constant contact and they are ‘going ahead with optimism and confidence’ while waiting for Fiorentina to answer their proposal.

In the meantime, the Italian side are eyeing up replacements and have three names on their list already, including Jeremie Boga, who has also been linked with the Foxes this month.

Brendan Rodgers and co have now instead turned their attention to Gonzalez, with a firm bid now on the table and being assessed by Fiorentina.
