Sometimes for a player, things start rolling downhill and they don’t stop and for Florin Andone that has certainly been the case since he joined Brighton & Hove Albion.
The striker joined the Seagulls in a €6m deal from Deportivo La Coruna in 2018 but endured a difficult time at the club, managing just six goals in 30 appearances.
He was shipped out to Galatasaray the following year but managed just 12 appearances and two goals there before going to Cadiz last year.
Things did not improve in Spain either as he managed just nine appearances, with injuries again limiting the Brighton man’s appearances on the pitch.
He left Brighton on a free transfer this summer and ended up at Las Palmas but, as La Voz explain today, things have not improved.
They report that Andone has gone ‘from injury to injury’. Having suffered at Cadiz last season, he has already ‘suffered another physical setback’ at the beginning of this campaign.
He made his debut in match-day five but managed seven minutes before suffering a strain in his left femoral bicep.
‘Long, long gone’ are the days that the Romanian striker was earning attention for his ‘instinct’ in the penalty area because his ‘star went out’ at Brighton.
He suffered ‘umpteenth’ injuries last season and that’s continued this year, with another mishap added to the ‘endless list’ and now putting him out of contention for Las Palmas.
It’s another low point in an endless series of them for the striker, who seems to have been sliding down constantly since his move to Brighton.
