One player who has enjoyed something of a resurgence at Manchester United this season is Fred.

The Brazilian has started eight from a possible 12 games under Ole Gunnar Solskjaer, mostly due to Paul Pogba’s injuries and lack of form, but we all know that if the Frenchman is fit and at the top of his game, he will get the start.

This makes Fred an expendable in the long-term, and with Christian Eriksen struggling at Inter, there’s now very early talk of a potential swap.

It comes from Corriere dello Sport, who report on Tuesday there are a couple of players in Solskjaer’s squad who could be used to sign the Dane, ‘despite Bruno Fernandes in the role’.

This comes after a big chunk of the article focusing on Arsenal and the possibility of Granit Xhaka being used as a counterpart, but the Italian newspaper state ‘even Manchester United can think of Eriksen’.

While Pogba simply cannot be afforded due to his €18m/year wages, Fred or even Nemanja Matić could be considered, especially since Inter ‘have accumulated several positive relationships in the past’ when it comes to the Brazilian.

There’s nothing concrete here, but we’re just giving you a heads up that these stories could spread like wildfire, and you should know exactly what’s said in them.
