Pep Guardiola has Gabriel Jesus and Sergio Agüero as the only two recognised strikers at Manchester City.

The Argentine has struggled with injuries this season and has spent time away from the pitch. He is also is in his final year of contract at the Etihad.

Tuesday’s edition of Sport explains Inter Milan’s Lautaro Martínez is the priority target for the Citizens manager and Borussia Dortmund star Erling Haaland is ‘second choice’.

Another report from the same newspaper focuses on the Premier League side’s interest in the Norway international, with a title reading ‘City goes for Haaland’.

It’s claimed the former Barcelona manager has set his sights on the 20-year-old Bundesliga striker to become Agüero’s successor.

Real Madrid have Haaland on their agenda for the future and the La Liga winners have plans to sign him in 2022. Their main focus will be on Paris Saint-Germains’ Kylian Mbappé for next summer.

According to the newspaper, it will be ‘very difficult’ for Los Blancos to ‘compete’ with City for Haaland in 2021, considering Real Madrid will have to put ‘all the meat on the grill’ to sign Mbappé.

Real Madrid will not be left with sufficient financial resources to compete with Guardiola’s side for Haaland.
