According to a claim in the French media Barnsley are showing an interest in Dijon forward Mamadou Thiam. The 22 year old could move this summer due to his contract situation with the French club.
L’Equipe have today reported Barnsley could be lining up an offer for Thiam, and may be willing to pay Dijon €1m for the young attacker. Barnsley consolidated their place in the second tier last season, and will be hoping to kick on in the next campaign.
Barnsley lost Sam Winnall to rivals Sheffield Wednesday in the last window, and Paul Heckingbottom could be looking to bolster his attacking options before the window closes.
Thiam has just under 12 months on his contract remaining with Djion, and they could be under pressure to sell him this window, or risk losing him on a free next summer. The player can speak to other clubs with regards to a pre-contract agreement in January.
The forward spent last season on loan with Clermont and Dijon may decide to offload him this summer.
