Manchester United settled for a 2-2 draw against Barcelona in the first leg of the Europa League knockout round playoff tie at the Camp Nou on Thursday.

The return leg will take place at Old Trafford and Xavi Hernández will be without three key players for that clash.

Gavi received a yellow in the Champions League tie against Inter Milan and was shown a yellow card against Manchester United yesterday. This makes him ineligible to face the Red Devils on February 24th.

Ousmane Dembélé has been sidelined with an injury and won’t be fit on time to face Erik ten Hag’s next week. He will be joined by Pedri in the treatment room after the midfielder picked up an injury in the first half at the Camp Nou.

According to Mundo Deportivo, the 20-year-old is expected to be out of action for three to four weeks, forcing him to miss the fixture against Manchester United at Old Trafford.

Sergio Busquets missed the first leg due to a sprained ankle and there are doubts over his availability for the European clash next Thursday.

In the event Busquets regains full fitness, he will compete with Frenkie de Jong, Franck Kessié and Sergi Roberto for a place in midfield against Manchester United.

Meanwhile, Lisandro Martínez and Marcel Sabitzer missed yesterday’s tie due to suspension and the two will be eligible for the return leg in Manchester.
