Luis Suarez picked up an injury on Sunday evening, as his Barcelona side beat Real Betis 4-1.

During the match, Suarez managed to get a goal and an assist, but afterwards his club confirmed he’d picked up an ankle injury.

That led to claims across the English media that the player may be out against Manchester United. The first leg of the Champions League quarter final, to be played at Old Trafford, in on April 10th, with the Camp Nou return set for the 16th.

On Monday lunchtime, Barcelona released an official medical update which suggests the Uruguayan will be available to face Manchester United.

After tests on Monday morning, it’s been found that Suarez has a tear in his right ankle. He’ll miss the current international break with Uruguay and is expected to be out of action for 10-15 days.

At the extreme of that, it would see him return on April 2nd, giving plenty of time to get ready for the trip to England. Barcelona face Villarreal on that day, and then Atletico Madrid on the 6th.

If Barcelona are being open, and there’s no further issues, it’s unlikely Suarez will miss either Manchester United match.
