Benfica midfielder Anderson Talisca is said to be “anxious” as he waits for news about a transfer to Liverpool.

According to O Jogo, the 22-year-old has already told people close to him that he’s edging to leave Benfica and move to England. The newspaper says the player will try to get a work permit in England by being registered as a young talent, which may not take into account the updated work permit guidelines.

This weekend, we’ve already covered the reports from O Jogo which said Benfica would sell the Brazilian for €25m, as the manager Rui Vitória doesn’t have him in his plans for the next season.

We still think it’s very unlikely that Liverpool will pay this price for a player who, despite a good start, hasn’t been impressive at Benfica, having played only 1500 minutes last season.

But his agent is Jorge Mendes, and when this man is involved in the transfer, you can never rule it out.
