Back at the start of the season, reports from the Italian media claimed that Aston Villa and Newcastle United were both interested in signing Lucas Moura from Tottenham Hotspur.

It had been said that the attacker was not part of Antonio Conte’s plans for the season, and that would give the Villans and Magpies a chance to land him cheaply.

Moura was barely used by Tottenham this season, and now with the end of his contract, Aston Villa nad Newcastle are interested again, according to Torcedores.

The outlet writes that representatives from both Premier League sides recently contacted the player.

Tottenham, who have no intention of extending his contract, reportedly left him ‘free’ to analyse the offers that will show up on his table.

Torcedores’ story is mostly about Flamengo’s interest in Moura. The problem for the Brazilian side is that the player favours his stay in Europe and is not keen on going to his home country right now.

That gives Aston Villa and Newcastle an advantage, although they are said to have the competition from Lazio, Marseille, Roma and Wolverhampton Wanderers.
