Arsenal are keen on a deal for Real Madrid forward Vinicius Junior, but the Spanish giants are refusing to sanction a deal.
That’s according to Defensa Central, a Madrid orientated website, who say the Gunners are continuing to try and make a deal happen despite the lack of interest.
Back on the 22nd December, we covered a report from El Confidencial that stated Vinicius and teammate Rodrygo could be made available in January after failing to impress at the Bernabeu.
Arsenal were named as potential suitors for both players, with it explained that they were the ‘first to ask’ about Vinicius in the past.
That is something it seems they have tried, with DC stating that they are ‘still interested’ in signing the Brazilian in the January transfer window.
They explain that the player has been ‘on Mikel Arteta’s agenda’ for some time as the Spaniard believes he could add more pace and help reinforce his forward line.
The Gunners have continued to express that interest to Real Madrid and proposed a loan move, but it was quickly rejected by the but the Spanish giants.
They have made it ‘quite clear’ that they are not willing to negotiate any sort of deal. And the Brazilian is a part of Zinedine Zidane’s plans, contrary to reports.
That led the ‘operation’ to fail immediately, but Arsenal have not given up, instead continuing to make it clear that they are an option should Madrid change their mind.
At the moment that seems unlikely to happen, and Florentino Perez and Zidane are insistent that the player will continue in the squad, at least for this season.
