Earlier on Tuesday, we covered the latest regarding Arsenal’s interest in Mykhaylo Mudryk, with it coming from Italy.

It was Calciomercato.it who were reporting it, and while it isn’t an English or a Ukrainian source, they have kept close tabs on the matter, mostly through one of Shakhtar’s directors, who is Italian.

That’s why their update regarding the Ukraine international’s move to Arsenal was covered, and it was said that the two clubs were ironing out details in order to get the transfer over the line.

The deal was said to be edging towards completion, but it must be recalled that, at one point, it seemed like Chelsea were trying their best to hijack it.

That caused concerns within the Arsenal fanbase, even if the Gunners were clearly the better project to join these days, but they needn’t have worried.

This is because, according to Calciomercato.it’s Eleonora Trotta, Arsenal ‘has always been Mudryk’s only goal’.

She also adds this is one of the reasons why ‘the negotiations between the Gunners and Shakhtar are in the final stages’.

It seems this one could very well end up happening.
