Always keeping an eye on players who are potentially becoming free agents, the Italian media today shares a new story on the future of Leicester City midfielder Youri Tielemans.

The 26-year-old is expected to leave the Foxes at the end of his contract this summer, and besides the interest from Arsenal, he’s wanted by Serie A sides as well.

CalcioMercato today features a piece in which, despite claiming Tieleman’s future is ‘unknown’, they bring some interesting information about the competitors for the signing.

They start by claiming that English clubs are in ‘pole position’ to sign the player, with Arsenal having him ‘high’ on their list of reinforcements for midfield. It’s added that the Belgian player would ‘go perfectly’ in Mikel Arteta’s system.

Even though Juventus and Roma would both like to bring Tielemans to Italy, it’s claimed that this auction situation doesn’t favour any of those clubs. The Old Lady and the Giallorossi ‘cannot get close’ to the numbers offered by Premier League sides.

That’s why Arsenal should have an advantage over them, despite CalcioMercato also mentioning interest from Barcelona, Manchester United, Newcastle United and Real Madrid.
