Arsenal’s Eddie Nketiah is in the sights of Borussia Mönchengladbach for the next window, according to claims from Germany.
The striker has seen his playing time restricted this season at the Emirates. Mikel Arteta has not handed him a league start and has restricted him to only 114 minutes of action across 11 substitute appearances.
His current deal with the Gunners expires in June and he’s likely to leave the north London club as a free agent at the end of this campaign.
As a part of the squad rebuilding in the summer, Bild say the German club have prepared a ‘secret shopping list’.
Their head of scouting, Steffen Korell, has already sent a message to supporters that his side will look to sell some of their players and will not be able to replace them adequately. This has forced them to look at those players who either won’t cost a lot or are available on free transfers.
Arteta’s man fits into the latter category and is included in their shopping list. Although the report explains the Bundesliga side have been scouting him since 2020, they have some doubts about Nketiah’s ‘ability to assert himself.’
Time should tell whether Mönchengladbach will consider signing Nketiah on a free transfer in the summer.
