A couple of weeks ago, we covered news from France Football that Marseille were considering making a bid for Arsenal’s Mathieu Debuchy in January.

The veteran French defender is currently recovering from a hamstring injury suffered during his comeback against Bournemouth, but should be fit enough to pass a medical come January barring any serious complications.

Le10 Sport on Thursday, in their print edition, look at who Marseille, with their new owners, could buy in the winter, and Debuchy unsurprisingly makes an appearance.

The French magazine make it clear that Arsene Wenger will put his fullback on the transfer list in January, and the Ligue 1 side, looking for a fullback, have positioned themselves in a hope of luring him back to France permanently.

Labeled as ‘not impossible’, any deal would have to be a paid fee, with the player’s contract expiring in 2019, but, let’s be honest, it wouldn’t cost a lot to convince the Gunners of letting injury prone Debuchy leave.
