On-loan Arsenal defender William Saliba is set to miss Nice’s clash with Marseille on Saturday after testing positive for COVID-19.

That’s according to L’Equipe, who say the centre-back is set to spend ten days in isolation after testing positive for the virus.

Saliba has been on loan with Nice since January, having left Arsenal temporarily following a frustrating first six months at the club after arriving in the summer.

He’s been a regular for the French side since, making 12 appearances in Ligue 1 and establishing himself at the heart of their defence.

He now faces a spell on the sidelines, though, having tested positive for COVID-19 in the latest round of testing.

That will see him miss this weekend’s clash with Marseille and spend the next ten days in isolation as per the protocols in France.

The positive test is the latest blow for the Arsenal defender, who has had nothing but bad luck over the last year or so and will be hoping there is not more to come for him in the coming months.
