Arsenal are named today as the most likely club to land the Valencia goalkeeper Norberto Neto this summer.

In a story from Deporte Valenciano, it’s claimed that the 29-year-old has asked to leave the La Liga club, creating a big problem for them next season.

The website says Neto has also asked Valencia for a huge pay raise, which the Spanish side are unlikely to accept, so that would confirm his departure.

And even though there are no details of the talks with other clubs, Deporte Valenciano says the Gunners ‘look best placed’ to sign the Brazilian. There’s no information of how much he would cost.

Now that’s a move that doesn’t make a lot of sense. First for Neto, who’s a regular starter at Valencia in La Liga, and would find some competition at Arsenal.

And even though Petr Cech is retiring, the Gunners seem happy with Bernd Leno, who’s made 32 Premier League appearances this season. So would they go for an expensive second option?
