Over the weekend, a story appeared to emerge from South America regarding the future of Arsenal’s Joel Campbell.

The Costa Rican forward, who spent last season on loan at Betis in La Liga, will be needing to find himself yet another club to spend the upcoming campaign at, with a permanent transfer on the horizon.

With his Gunners contract said to be expiring next year, this is the last summer the Premier League club will be able to make some money on the 26-year-old, and Bola VIP believe both Fenerbahçe and Lazio are interested.

This was published on Saturday, so we expected something to be mentioned in the Italian media on Monday, and, sure enough, Gazzetta dello Sport have a sentence on the matter.

The newspaper explain to their readers the Arsenal forward has been ‘linked’ with the Serie A side, and that’s it.

If it was anything serious, you’d expect to have a bit more than a mere sentence, and the fact neither Il Tempo nor Il Messaggero, both local Rome outlets, mention Joel Campbell suggests there’s not a lot to it for now.
