On Thursday, we covered a report from newspaper A Bola which said Arsenal are about to pay €45m for the signing of Joelson from Sporting.
We thought such a big story would be followed by articles from other local outlets, but it seems that no one has managed to get the same information yet.
The only other newspaper who reported on the matter on Friday was Record, and they had an an update on his contract situation with Sporting.
It’s claimed that Joelson’s agent Kia Joorabchian will land in Lisbon by the start of next week to handle talks for the winger’s renewal.
Just like A Bola, Record points out that the main issue for a new agreement is the player’s new release clause.He’s currently protected by a clause of €45m, and Sporting want it way higher than that.
Record points out that Arsenal and Borussia Dortmund have been ‘attentive’ to Joelson’s situation, but there’s no information on an attempt from the Gunners to get him.
