An agreement between Arsenal and Juventus has ‘practically been reached’ for midfielder Arthur to join the Gunners this month.

That’s according to Tuttosport, who say the player’s agent, Federico Pastorello, is ‘trying to define the agreement’ with Mikel Arteta’s side.

The newspaper states that the goal has practically been reached as Arsenal are now willing to accept an 18-month loan deal, having resisted it at first.

Arteta is keen to add another midfielder to his squad this month, and Arthur appears to be the one they’re focusing their efforts on.

Juventus are open to seeing the back of the Brazilian, so that they can free up space on their wage bill for their own signings.

Talks have been ongoing with Arsenal for much of this month, and Tuttosport now say that Pastorello is close to getting an agreement done with the Gunners.

They’ve changed their stance after resisting the 18-month loan initially proposed by Juventus, making it clear they are now willing to sanction that deal.

That’s a major hurdle cleared, and it seems a deal is now there to be done, although Tuttosport don’t mention the finances involved.

We’re sure those details will come to light sooner rather than later, with Pastorello’s efforts yielding positive rewards for Juventus and Arthur.
