The future of James Rodriguez has once again been thrown into the air, after the Real Madrid player hinted he could consider a winter transfer. That’s led to several clubs being linked with a move, and Chelsea are very much among them.
The issue with Chelsea, according to AS, is that Antonio Conte is ‘not convinced’ by the prospect of signing James in January. He’s not a big fan of the player, so wouldn’t be pushing for a transfer.
That should therefore be that. If Conte is against a Chelsea purchase, especially one as big as James, then Roman Abramovich surely shouldn’t go ahead and try and make a deal anyway.
Of course, it’s unknown just how AS would be aware that Conte isn’t too fussed about signing James.
