Andreas Pereira came on late for Valencia at the weekend, and managed to get himself a goal in the club’s 6-3 win away to Real Betis.

The Manchester United youngster’s performance was also praised in the Spanish media, even if it was a brief appearance, and Pereira had a chance to turn the corner.

It was a boost for the 21 year old, who has been receiving some criticism in the Spanish media for his performances since arriving from Manchester United.

If he can get regular cameos and a few starting matches, then it’s likely to be more than he would have managed under Jose Mourinho this season, whether the Old Trafford boss was happy to see him go or not.

Unfortunately for Pereira, he’s had to take to social media to apologise to Valencia fans after being caught speeding on Monday. Super Deporte say it’s something which ‘tarnishes the good moment of the team’ after the Betis match, but that certainly sounds like going over the top.

Manchester United loanee Pereira is probably fortunate that his speeding came after his good cameo, rather than before it.
