Expressen have reported Leeds United pair Pontus Jansson and Pawel Cibicki celebrated via a link with their former Malmo teammates, after the club last night sealed the Swedish league title.

Both Jansson and Cibiki came through the Malmo youth system, and come from the city.

Last night Malmo sealed their 20th Allsvenskan after their 3-1 away victory over IFK Norrköping, a record in Sweden. The Leeds United pair took the opportunity to celebrate with the Malmo players despite being 1216 Km away in England, but this was short lived after their video link lost connection.

Malmo captain Markus Rosenberg jokingly said Jansson disappeared because he’d won more Swedish league titles than the Leeds United defender: “I did not hear anything, he probably did not hear me either. It was him and Pawel anyway. I asked how many SM gold he had, and maybe that’s why he disappeared.”

It’s been well documented Jansson still holds a lot of admiration for his former club, and he’s been seen at several Malmo games since his move to Leeds United.

The 26 year old has spoken in the past about finishing his career with the Swedish champions, and even used their training facilities in the summer to maintain his fitness.

Cibicki arrived at Leeds United in the summer from Malmo, and had a bigger reason to celebrate as he played his part in the club winning the league.

The 23 year old was regular for Malmo throughout the season, but there’s been no reports if he’ll receive a medal for his contribution.
