With Jorginho and his agent both speaking to the Italian media following Chelsea’s clash against Porto in the Champions League, it was obvious that some transfer rumours would be mentioned in the conversations.
Earlier today, we already covered quotes from the player as he was asked about a potential return to Napoli.
Despite claiming he’s only concentrated on Chelsea for now, he said he’d fancy moving back to the Serie A side, especially because he loved living in the city.
Then it was his representative João Santos who was interviewed by Radio Kiss Kiss. And when obviously asked about Jorginho’s possible move back to Napoli, he once again encouraged the rumours.
“Jorginho would like to return to Italy, the will to play again in Serie A is there. If Napoli need Jorginho, it can be done,” Joao Santos told Radio Kiss Kiss (via Tutto Mercato Web).
The official, however, claimed it wouldn’t be easy to take the midfielder from Chelsea.
“At Chelsea he still has a two-year contract. To date he’s worth 50 million euros and has a very important contract, in pounds, in London. It’s difficult for De Laurentiis to spend so much. But in my opinion Marina from Chelsea will arrive in a few months to propose a renewal.”
João Santos was also quizzed about Jorginho’s potential move to Juventus. As he’s done before, he once again claimed that the player wouldn’t have a place in the Old Lady’s squad right now, and added there are other Italian giants interested in the Chelsea player.
“Juventus today have Arthur in that role in midfield. Juve’s sporting director Fabio Paratici has been a football person for some time, he’s known Jorginho and in my opinion in Italy he has the interest from Milan and Inter, not just Juve. If a director sees a player like Jorginho, he surely likes him.”
