Liverpool have endured a difficult start to the season managing two league wins from the first six matches.

Towards the end of the summer, Jürgen Klopp wanted the Reds to sign a new midfielder, and the manager’s wish was fulfilled when the Merseyside club took Arthur on a loan deal from Juventus on the deadline day.

The Serie A side were keen to get rid of the 26-year-old and after several failed attempts to place him at different clubs, they were successful in offloading him, when Liverpool took the player on a temporary deal.

In his column for TuttoMercatoWeb, journalist Michele Criscitiello shared his views on the top five agents who flopped during the recently concluded window.

The Brazil international is managed by Federico Pastorello and Criscitiello has the agent as one of the flops of the summer.

“In the last 24 hours of the transfer market he was good and saved what could be saved. It could have finished 6-0, it ended 3-1. Change little, however, at least save face. Arthur at Liverpool is a great coup. He exploited Klopp’s frailties,” Criscitiello said.

“Save the season to Acerbi but is still late with the renewal of Meret who remained at Napoli for lack of alternatives of the Neapolitans who remained with the match in hand in goal.”

“His horror summer: he loses Bernardeschi, Cancellieri and Ricci. Humiliated by Lukaku even publicly. He will return as leader but this 2022 has marked several steps backwards.”

A late move to Liverpool will allow the ex-Barcelona man to have an unexpected chance to showcase his abilities in the Premier League this season.
