The agent of Basaksehir winger Cengiz Under has told the Italian media AS Roma are interested in his client, after claims yesterday the Serie A side are close to signing the youngster.
The 19-year-old has been linked a with move to Manchester City in the past week, after the Premier League side held talks in Istanbul with regards to signing the Turkey international.
Speaking to Corriere Giallorosso, Omer Uzan said “At the moment I can confirm the interest of Roma for Cengiz Under, but the deal is not yet closed.”
Last week we covered reports from Turkey that Manchester City held talks with the leaders of Basaksehir, but the English side’s €9m bid was turned down by the Turkish club.
Basaksehir are holding out for €15m from Manchester City, because they have to pay the player’s former club 30% of the transfer fee.
There have been no reports of whether Manchester City will come in with a second bid for Under, but it’s been claimed they thought their first effort was high enough.
