According to claims in the Italian media AS Roma are closing in on Medipol Basaksehir attacker Cengiz Under.
The 19-year-old has been linked with a move to Manchester City, after they travelled to Istanbul last week to hold talks to sign the player.
TMW have reported Roma are ‘one step away’ from signing Under in this transfer window. The Turkey international impressed for his club last season, which brought him to the attention of the likes of Manchester City and Roma.
These latest developments will come as a blow to the Premier League side, after claims last week they tabled a bid of €9m for the attacker.
Last week we covered reports from Turkey that Manchester City held talks with the leaders of Basaksehir, but the English side’s bid was turned down by the Turkish club. Basaksehir are holding out for €15m because they have to pay his former club Altınordu 30% of the transfer fee.
There have been no reports of whether Manchester City will come in with a second bid for Under, but it’s been claimed they thought their first effort was a reasonable offer.
