The future of Danish defender Jores Okore is unclear at Aston Villa, after the player had a fall-out with Aston Villa’s caretaker manager Eric Black.

The 23-year-old was left out of the starting XI in a Premier League game against Bournemouth, after which he allegedly asked Black not to consider him for the remaining games.

Okore has just one-year left on his contract at Aston Villa, and the injury-prone defender is expected to depart.

Hi agent, Nikola Juric, has been speaking to Danish media outlet Bold.dk about the future of Okore, and it appears the defender wants to stay at the club beyond the summer.

“Jores is an Aston Villa player. There is a new manager with an exciting new setup, so it’s not inconceivable that he will stay.

“It takes some time to process between something old and something new, but there is something new going on in the club and so you can start out afresh again, and Jores is also ready.

“Jores is absolutely ready to give it another chance, and even if they are relegated to the Championship, it’s still a great club.”

The player has made just 38 league appearances at the Aston Villa since joining them in 2013, and should improve his fitness first to give himself any chance of making an impact next season.
