Estadio Deportivo, Sevilla’s local sport newspaper, report the club have shelved their idea to sign Sandro Ramirez from Everton this summer.

Spending the second half of the season at the Spanish club, Sandro failed to find the back of the net once but there were still countless reports of Sevilla being ready to make a move.

Even this week there’s been claims from Spain about a swoop and talks being ahead with Everton. That has now all changed according to the local source.

Estadio Deportivo say discussions within the club have led to the conclusion that Sandro isn’t the player they should be targeting. The transfer wouldn’t be ‘simple or cheap’ and the former Barcelona player’s big wages are perceived to be a problem.

This may not be just about money either, with it being explained Sandro doesn’t fit the plans of new Sevilla manager Pablo Machín.

Now the club will continue to target Bas Dost, who by coincidence is continually linked with Everton.
