Brazilian club São Paulo are still to receive any official contact from Manchester City regarding the transfer of Éder Militão, Sport Witness has learned.

Even though several reports from both England and Brazil have been claiming Pep Guardiola’s interest in the youngster, with a possible £20m bid coming, there are no open negotiations between the sides.

With his contract with São Paulo expiring in January 2018, Militão is currently in a strong position to decide his future, and is playing hard over accepting a contract renewal at the Brazilian side.

That’s why interested clubs have been making approaches, with the possibility to get him on a free transfer even in the summer, in case he signs a pre-contract to move next year.

Militão has been acting quite mysterious about the situation, and hasn’t been telling teammates or close friends anything. This is not the first time he reacts like this during contract negotiations with São Paulo.

The feeling is that Manchester City’s supposed offer could be being used as leverage by the player’s staff, even though Porto’s interest is taken as a more likely possibility.
