After the Italian media reported it, it’s time for the Portuguese press to confirm that Eduardo has an offer to stay at Chelsea for longer.
The goalkeeper, whose contract with the Blues expires at the end of the season, would have the chance to stay at the club for at least one more year, according to Portuguese newspaper O Jogo.
Even though Antonio Conte normally picks Thibaut Courtois and Willy Caballero to play, Chelsea would like to continue with a third option who they can trust in case of an emergency.
But despite the offer, O Jogo makes it clear that the negotiations are not concluded. The reason for that is that Eduardo has offers to play in Portugal, where he would certainly have more game time than at the London side.
Signed on a free deal from Dinamo Zagreb in the summer of 2016, Eduardo is still to make his debut for Chelsea’s first team.
