On Thursday evening we covered claims from Portugal and Sweden about Crystal Palace being on the verge of signing one player, midfielder Erdal Rakip, and working to try and get another, goalkeeper Robin Olsen.

Both footballers are represented by the same agent, Hasan Cetinkaya, and it was reported he was in England with Rakip.

Rakip will, according to the claims, be arriving on loan from Benfica until the end of the season, having just signed for the Portuguese club.

It’s an odd deal, but Olsen makes more sense. The 28 year old FC Copenhagen goalkeeper is highly regarded, and that’s why Aftonbladet says Crystal Palace will be asked for a ‘crazy’ price.

Over in Denmark, FCK manager Ståle Solbakken is quoted by Tipsbladet as confirming the plan is to sell Olsen in the summer, unless there’s a big bid: “Yes, it’s been the plan all the way. But if there’s 200 million, then we look at it.”

How much? Well, that’d be 200m Danish Krone, so about £23m.

We can almost guarantee that in reality FCK would accept far less from Crystal Palace.
