Paul Pogba’s pending arrival at Manchester United could force Juventus to sign a midfielder this summer.
Zenit Saint Petersburg’s Axel Witsel is believed to be their first choice to replace Pogba, but the Italian giants are also interested in Chelsea’s Nemanja Matic, who would probably be the better option.
A couple of days ago, Italian newspaper Gazzetta dello Sport said: ‘Juventus are closely monitoring the situation of Nemanja Matic at Chelsea.
It is reported Conte believes Matic is a key player for the squad, and the player is not on the market as it stands.’
On Sunday, Gazzetta reiterate Juventus’ interest in signing Matic. They say Matic and his representatives are also tempted by the prospect of signing for Juventus, but Antonio Conte will veto any possible exit for the player.
Earlier, Conte had said in his press conference that Matic is an important player for him, so it’s a bit unlikely Chelsea would want to sell him.
