Fanatik claim Besiktas captain Oguzhan Ozyakup is very close to signing a new deal with his club, but his new contract will include a €10m release clause.
The 24 year old has been consistently linked with a move to the Everton, with reports the Premier League side are lining up a bid for the player.
Ozyakup’s contract expires in June 2018, and the Besiktas board have been keen to secure his future with the Turkish champions. The Besiktas captain has been instrumental in the past two seasons, helping guide the team to back to back championships.
This may come as good news to Everton, with the possibility of landing the Turkey international for just €10m. It seems the midfielder is destined to leave the club next summer, but will sign the contract so that the Turkish side get a transfer fee for him.
There were claims last week Everton are preparing an offer of €13m in January, and are ready to open talks with the Turkish champions.
The Merseyside could now miss out on signing Ozyakup on a free transfer, but would still be able to sign him for a fee lower than they were prepared to pay in January.
