Entering Saturday’s fixture against Reading knowing they needed at least a draw to keep their top spot in the Championship, Wolverhampton Wanderers walked away with a 2-0 win.
Key to their good form this season has been Romain Saiss, who has been near ever present for Wolves in the league, missing just one game through suspension, and his performances have apparently attracted the attention of one of the big guns in the Premier League.
According to Libération in Morocco, Jürgen Klopp’s Liverpool would be interested in signing the 27-year-old defensive midfielder from Molineux Stadium, and they could attempt to do so as early as January.
This story has come out of the blue, with no prior indication of any Liverpool interest in the Wolves player, so it’s one we’ll be keeping an eye on as we approach the January transfer window, but as a relatively cheap and useful signing to shore things up at Anfield, it’s not a bad idea.
