According to a report in the French media, Burnley sent a scout to the game between Bordeaux and AS Monaco on Saturday night.

With the window set to open in the new year the Premier League side may already looking at possible targets to bring in.

Girondins 4ever have reported Burnley were on the scouting list for the Ligue 1 clash at the weekend, which Monaco won 2-0. The Clarets were joined by fellow Premier League sides Manchester United, Leicester City, Southampton, Arsenal and Tottenham.

There have been no reports who Burnley were watching on Saturday, but they were linked with Bordeaux forward Nicolas de Préville in the last window, before he made the move from Lille to the Girondins. At the time it was claimed Burnley were lining up a £12m bid for the player.

Despite Burnley signing Chris Wood from Leeds United in the summer, De Preville can play in the wide positions as he did in the recent game against Amiens, and could still be an option for Sean Dyche.

De Preville is contracted to Bordeaux until July 2021.
