There’s a big noise in the Italian media saying Manchester City would be targeting Miralem Pjanic as a signing for the summer.
The original report came from Sport Mediaset, who claims that Pep Guardiola would like the midfielder to replace Fernandinho, who’s running out of contract at the end of the season.
Although Pjanic isn’t currently in the process of a contract renewal – his current deal expires in 2021 – Juventus wouldn’t make things easy for him to go.
But with Fernandinho being so praised by Guardiola and having a secure place in the starting team, would Manchester City really let him walk at the end of the season? That sounds quite unlikely, although Pjanic is obviously a player to be watched.
Another questionable point is that the two are very different footballers.
