Elfsborg goalkeeper Tim Ronning has been asked in the Swedish media whether his fellow countryman Pontus Dahlberg is ready to move to a big club.
Dahlberg has recently been linked with a move to Everton and Sunderland, with claims last month IFK Göteborg could listen to offers in the next window.
In an interview with Fotbol Direkt, Ronning was quizzed about his Sweden U21 international rival getting a move to a major club: “It’s depends on the individual. Some people manage that step and are ready, while others do not. It’s up to him, but I think he’s really good.”
Last month we covered reports from Sweden that Everton and Sunderland could move in on Dahlberg in the new year, after claims IFK could offload him due to cost cutting measures.
Everton were reportedly looking to sign a third choice keeper in the last window after they were strongly linked with Eloy Room, but with the Dutchman signing for PSV instead, Dahlberg could be an alternative for Koeman.
There’s doubts over the future of Joel Robels at Goodison Park after reports in the last window he could return to Spain.
Sunderland were also in the market for a new goalkeeper, with Jordan Pickford leaving the Stadium of Light in the last window to sign for Everton.
