Readying themselves for a tough season in the Premier League, Brighton & Hove Albion have been trying to bolster as best they can this summer, and their transfer window might not be done just yet.
According to TuttoMercatoWeb in Italy, the newly promoted side could be after a new right-back in Sporting CP’s Ezequiel Schelotto.
The 28-year-old had been negotiating a return back to Italy, where he spent seven years of his career, with Sampdoria said to be interested, but that deal appears to have gone cold or, at least, is on standby.
So much so, in fact, that Chris Hughton’s side could ‘close the deal in the coming days’ thanks to an agent, Alessandro Grigoletto.
However, Brighton could face competition from both Middlesbrough and Sunderland for his signature if they aren’t careful.
TuttoMercatoWeb have them as ‘in the background’, probably just keeping an eye on his situation.
For now though, it seems it’s just Brighton.
