Mateusz Klich will sign a three year contract with Leeds United on Friday, report Tubantia in the Netherlands. Tubantia were one of the first with the news this week that Klich’s move to Elland Road was imminent, and after Leeds picked up speed in their chase of the Polish midfielder this one has moved to a conclusion quickly.
But, in true Eredivisie style, Twente’s Klich replacement will cost nothing. The club are working to pick up Haris Vučkić, who sees his Newcastle United contract expire at the end of June.
Rafael Benitez’s side have made no effort to keep Vučkić at St James’ Park, and his Newcastle United adventure, which started in 2009, is coming to an end.
Twente is a good move for Vučkić from Newcastle, and the 24 year old is being seen in the Netherlands as a direct replacement for Leeds-bound Klich.
Update: Dutch newspaper De Telegraaf are backing up Klich signing a three year contract at Leeds United, having already had a medical.
