Everton making their presence in Italy very public has sent the Italian transfer market into some kind of frenzy, trying to link as many players as possible with the Toffees.
Yesterday, Sport Witness learnt that despite claims of an interest in Mario Lemina, Everton weren’t looking for a player in the Juventus midfielder’s position, but the links with players in similar positions keep coming.
The 24-year-old midfielder enjoyed a mixed season last year, still performing when called upon, but played a lot less than in previous years, only managing 28 appearances in all competitions.
Scoring six goals and picking up four assists along the way, Brozovic would be a valuable addition to most squads, mostly because of his ability to play anywhere down the midfield with relative ease.
Gazzetta dello Sport on Friday mention the Toffees interest in the player, as well as the player’s €50m release clause, but the general consensus is that Inter would accept bids around €20-25m for the player.
With the Ivan Perisic to Manchester United deal stalling, and Inter needing to make around €30m before the end of the month, selling a couple of squad players like Brozovic is their alternative way to raise the money.
If Everton want him, and end up bidding anywhere above €20m, it seems Inter are likely to accept.
