Yesterday it was announced Leeds United have installed Thomas Christiansen as their new manager, following the recent resignation of Garry Monk. Leeds United have been linked with a number of managers since Monk stepped down, largely to drive betting odds, and finally settled for the Dane.
The 44-year-old spent just one season with Apoel, but could now be going up against his former club to sign Chievo Verona owned forward Caleb Ekuban.
The youngster has this month been linked with a move to Leeds United, with African claims coming through at the beginning of June, but there have also been claims from CalcioNews that Apoel have been in talks to sign the 23-year-old.
It’s been claimed the Cypriot side have already tabled a bid with Chievo, and now they’re waiting an answer from the Serie A side, whilst the earlier report said Leeds United are in pole position to sign the forward.
Ekuban impressed whilst on loan with Partizani Tirana last season, which has brought him to the attention of Leeds United and Apoel.
