Swansea City forward Bafétimbi Gomis is on the verge of joining Galatasaray, according to claims in the French media. Gomis spent last season on loan with Marseille from the Premier League side.

L’Equipe have reported Gomis has agreed personal terms with the Turkish giants, ahead of his proposed move from Swansea City. The forward will sign a three year contract with Galatasaray, and will receive an annual salary of €3.4m net, plus bonuses. Fanatik in Turkey say Swansea City will receive €2.5m for Gomis.

It’s been claimed Gomis will today have his medical in Paris, and that he will officially become a Galatasaray player on Friday.

This will come as blow to Marseille, who were keen to bring the Swansea City player back to France after a successful season with the Ligue 1 side.

Gomis finished the campaign as the club’s top scorer, but it seems Galatasaray’s lucrative offer to the 31-year-old has clinched the deal for the Turkish side.

Marseille will now look at other alternatives, with claims they are interested in AC Milan’s Carlos Bacca.
