The Turkish newspaper claim Fenerbahce have made an approach for Gael Clichy, and that Holebas is an alternative if they fail to land the former Manchester City player.
Fenerbahçe are currently considering Holebas as an option and they will ask their new manager Aykut Kocaman if the Watford defender would fit into his team. The Turkish giants had a disappointing season, and are looking to strengthen.
However, Fenerbahce are restricted in the transfer market due to FFP, so it’s unknown if they’d be looking for a loan deal or a permanent switch.
The Watford player has previously been linked with a move to Turkey following interest from Besiktas when he was at Olympiacos, but nothing materialised.
The Greek international joined Watford from AS Roma two seasons ago and has been a regular for the Premier League side since his arrival in England. Holebas made 33 Premier League appearances last season.
