As far as Burnley’s transfer window goes, there is one move that seems almost guaranteed to happen, and that is Steven Defour leaving Turf Moor.
The destination, however, remains a mystery, with claims in Greece that Olympiakos are ready to move for him, a transfer Defour isn’t exactly against.
Speaking to DH, the player briefly discussed the subject, and said: “I’m not excluding anything. Have Olympiakos made a concrete offer? Officially, no.”
The “officially” in his answer suggests the player has been approached by the Greek side in some shape or form, or that Burnley and Olympiakos have been in touch.
Moving there would allow Defour, 29, to get some Champions League football under his belt, as Olympiakos finished top of the Greek Super League last year.
And, weather wise, there’s far worse places to be.
Defour made 28 appearances for the Clarets last season, scoring three goals and picking up five assists.
