AC Milan are in the picture to sign Newcastle United’s Kieran Trippier in the winter market, according to a report from Italy.
The right-back started the season as a substitute before making three consecutive league starts in the Magpies’ last three Premier League matches.
Trippier’s situation at Newcastle has improved recently, but that hasn’t stopped the exit links.
According to Pianeta Milan, the Rossoneri are looking at the option of securing the 34-year-old’s services in January.
The report insists Trippier can join the Serie A side for a ‘handful of millions’. The England international has a contract at Newcastle lasting until 2026 and Transfermarkt values him at €10m.
If the defender were to arrive at the San Siro, he could take Davide Calabria’s place in Paulo Fonseca’s squad. Trippier can also operate as a left-back and can provide cover for Theo Hernández.
Pianeta Milan say the Newcastle player’s addition can provide ‘quality and flexibility’ to the Italian club. There’s no indication if Trippier or Eddie Howe’s side are willing to negotiate with Milan in the next window.
