Beşiktaş manager Giovanni van Bronckhorst is a potential target for Everton, having already turned down a previous approach.

That’s according to Dirilis Postasi, who report that the Dutch coach is on the radar for Everton if they part ways with Sean Dyche.

The newspaper reports that it is considered certain that Everton will sack Dyche at some point later this year, presumably when the Friedkins finalise their takeover of the club.

New owners very rarely stick with the manager they inherit and a disappointing start to the season and a disgruntled fanbase has heaped pressure on Dyche ahead of the takeover by the Americans.

And according to Dirilis Postasi Van Bronckhorst is the ‘first choice’ in that eventuality. In fact, they say that he has already rejected an offer from the Toffees.

However, the ‘turbulent’ circumstances he currently finds himself in at Beşiktaş could sway that and if it continues, he will give the green light to Everton.

On the face of it, though, this appears to be nothing more than Van Bronckhorst’s agent putting his name about in hope rather than anything serious.

If the Friedkins do move for a new manager, it seems unlikely they’d go for someone who is yet to have any genuine success at the clubs he’s managed.

It’s also far more likely that they’d look at managers they’d know, hence why links to Maurizio Sarri or Jose Mourinho make more sense.

In reality, nobody knows anything, and it would be a surprise if the Friedkins are already making offers to managers before their takeover is even signed and sealed.
